Dilfer is the default "mediocre QB with a ring"

I don't go for this business about judging QBs by their Superbowl rings...like John Elway, was he a greater QB because Denver signed Terrell Davis as running back and won 2 Superbowls at the end of Elway's career....

As regards Eli v Peyton, Eli has proved some haters wrong but I think most people know that there is a significant gulf in class between them, Eli isn't nearly the great player Peyton is.

Only downside to Peyton is he is like Brett Favre, an iconic figure that will rack up superb stats but become so dominant in a team that they become one dimensional, something that the Giants definitely aren't.

It was too late to not go for the obvious comparison!

But my point about Peyton and Eli still stands.

If he plays as well as he has this year for the next 5 years and goes on a couple more play off runs then Eli will have a case to be compared to Peyton though.

It depends on how you personally differentiate between QBs. I've always said that been great in the clutch is what makes a great QB to me. Eli has shown more than Peyton in a shorter period of time. Peyton is one of my all time favourite players. Watching him read a D at the line is one of the best parts of the sport but if I'm down with 2 minutes to go I'll take Eli every time.

So I'll say it. I think Eli might actually be a better QB than his brother. Never thought I'd say that.

Yes Eli is good at that sort of stuff and it does matter.

That was always the problem with Cutler at Denver, he didn't have it, despite the fact people used to say he had the most talent out of the next generation of QBs, more than Eli, Roethlisberger, Rivers etc. He was not the man to pull out plays in big moments.

That last drive showed what a good quarterback Eli is. He has plenty of time to win another ring and if he does then you could maybe say that he is a better quarterback than his brother.

Was there really any need for Bellichicks constant spitting?

Amazing, haven't been asleep. We didn't deserve it though, they would have won had they completed every pass and broken every tackle. We didn't deserve to win, just like we didn't against the Niners, Packers and Falcons. Eli Manning is helpful, never beaten a good qb and win's on flukey plays.
