LOVE UNITED - HATE GLAZER

"DEBT IS THE ROAD TO RUIN" - David Gill, August 2004

FFS the defender should have cleared the ball in the first place. His feet were so slow he never even kicked at the ball, he just let the ball hit his feet and diverted it to Scholes. He then fell over like a newly crippled person attempting their first steps in physiotherapy.

No problem whatsoever with the goal from a MU/PS perspective. He took the goal well, controlled the ball, didn't panic, moved in to space and prodcued a good finish. But from a defensive POV that was a pathetic goal. There was nothing special about the cross and it should have been cleared to the half way line. There was nothing exceptional from Scoles's footwork, it was simply awful defending to allow him to time and space 8 yards from goal to calmly finish.

I've got no problem with your analysis of Wolves' defending of the cross, I was just simply stating, as far as Scholes' technique to get the ball controlled then round the defender, before hitting a nice finish was class.

Lord God Jose Mourinho wrote:
I was venting over the Vokes miss when someone else asked if the top 3 were on the same points. I then went into more detail over the nature of Scoles's goal and Vokes's miss. I wasn't doing an in-depth match report.

I suppose Vokes's miss was really down to van der Sar's Jedi mind tricks?

That really was an awful miss. It was awful defending too to leave him free. There were a couple of other times when Vokes had the chance to score but fluffed it.

I don't know which was the worse miss of the game, Vokes' effort or Diouf's starfished headed effort when he faced an open goal. At least Vokes had VDS in his way.

Hasnt Benitez effectively written off Aquilani for this season? Didnt he say something to the effect that Aquilai needs 3 or 4 consecutive starts to get up to speed but Liverpool cant afford to give him 3 or 4 starts at this stage of the season?

Just looked at a mates tickets for Juve vs Fulham. He has paid a mere €20 for his tickets!

There's a reason it's only 20notes. Fulham aren't an attractive team.

I'd rather watch them over quite a few other english teams at the moment, including my own!

Milan away tickets for United were €22, albeit up in the gods but still decent in the grand scheme.

Uefa can go and sit on a penis with those prices. Gone are the glory days of £12 for a final ticket in '99.

Yep.

F*cking stupid. There again, football authorities care less and less each year for the normal football fan.

You pay over the odds to watch 90 minutes of football.

Ticket prices increase way above inflation year on year.

You can't stand.

You can't take banners of certain colours into the ground - even none-offensive ones.

You're forced to pay for games you might not want to go to.

Even if you do attend first round cup games to watch your reserves at full whack, you still won't get a ticket to the final because you're not a hospitality ticket holder.

And so on.
