Looking for something to recoup the expense of Christmas. Big Bucks is no betting proposition at all at 2/11. Big Zeb is a somewhat erratic jumper, but if he gets it right he will win. Punchestowns has been off a long time. Which brings me to the two Mullins horses - Zaidpour and Hurricane Fly. Gonna add Big Buck's too if the first two come in.
Starting the ball rolling with a nice sum on Zaidpour. All three are shocking prices, don't know if they were any better early doors but I suppose you can only take what they give.
Least I got Zaidpour at 2/7 instead of 1/4
Townend was miles away and then thought a sprint finish would be enough. Horse's jumping was awful as well. The kiss of death was put on him by the commentator before the race, who said he had the look of a champion.
Oh well, one down so all three are now.
Big Zeb tempts me to try and win my money back, but I will be sh*tting myself if his jumping is put under pressure. I've backed him purely as I don't think Golden Silver or Captain Cee Bee are possible Champion Chasers, and as long as it goes to plan he should hopefully win.
Only about a tenner down now. Big Zeb made up for Zaidpour's disappointment. Geraghty's horse was looking weary towards the end and few a second or two I thought a bad day was gonna get even worse. Now I'm pretty much level, I'm confident the day will be a profitable one.
The bookies had a belting ten minutes before though, Zaidpour @ 1/4 SP and Punchestowns @ 1/3 SP both beaten by narrow margins.
