Scott Wells signed for the Rams. Very dissapointing as he is easily one of the top C's in the league. I believe he calls the blocking assignments for our line and along with Sitton are probably our best players at keeping A-Rod safe. Him and Rodgers didn't make mistakes at the snap either. To make it worse Myers from Houston (the guy we were expected to go after) has re-signed with them.
That means unless we sign a FA or trade for somebody we are stuck with the choice of Evan Dietrich-Smith (backup at best) or drafting a C. I'd have no problem with going C in the first if we didn't have a huge hole to fill at OLB opposite Clay.
On the Manning note, i wouldn't touch him at all, I think he'll end up a Bronco though. I'm very suprised the Titans are going after him? What was the point in spending the 1st round pick (10th last year? or was it the year before?) on Locker. He's played very well in relief of Hasslebeck last year and IMO should be the starter for them. For them to go after Manning (presuming they offer him like a minimum 3-4 year contract which is how long IMO he'll realistically play for) then his contract would be up and he'd surely definately leave. The whole going into "win now" mode rarely ever works.
