Coordinated Cut is a apparently a monster, super horse HOWEVER it will come on significantly for the run !!!! as did Authorised & Dr Devious PCH's other derby winner. It could / should still win today but as the quoted poster has done back it small or in multiples.

It's about £100 per ride on the flat and nearer £130 over the sticks and a percentage of prize money (10% rings a bell).

Retainers are obviously classed as an employee of a stable/owner so although the above fees would still apply they would be paid by their employer on top of that.

Gotta lot to prove and 40/1 20/1 or whatever makes no odds really as he's got to step up massivly to even turn up on the day and would be surprised if he goes into the winter in the top 4 or 5 in the betting (on the bare basis of the way he went today)...but it is all about opinions and mine is he beat nothing and the scope is there but if he had not been hyped up beforehand he would have just been thought of as a promising juvenile (which he is) not the next big thing. Bookies love the publicity someone like him brings in as the ante-post market has yet to really develop but at this stage picking horses who will run at Epsom is like finding a needle in the haystack even considering him as a likely winner is a giant leap of faith though time will tell.

And I think it was a fair bit of bullying by Big Mac on ATR that even got them to do that....seconds before their PR bloke anounced it Boycie was saying that McCririck was away with the faries thinking a bookie would refund ante-post bets in those circumstances.

It's the golden rule of bookmaking PR. You want max publicity for minimum cost.

If you're 4/1 and everyone else is 11/2 or 6's about a horse and it doesn't run then it's easy to pay out as you won't have layed it (the whole point of being bottom price).

Nathan Allison gave Diddums a shocker at Epsom today btw - well worth watching for a "what not to do when you're holding up a horse" type ride.
