It's pretty much a popularity contest where the players get to spend a weekend in Hawaii. I think the fact that a Centre managed to score a touchdown from a lateral on Sunday tells you exactly how serious the game is taken

It's supposed to be an "all-star" game from the best performers throughout the season, but like Adamjk say's its turned into a popularity contest nowadays, basically the fans vote for their own teams players and players that have played in previous games

Agreed, I dont think hes been anywhere near his dominant best this year, and he's one of my favourite players to watch.
James Harrison or Clay matthews for me. Although more chance of me winning it than Harrison with the 'fines' he's incurred, when some of them were a load of rubbish.

Another example of Packers players being snubbed for the individual awards/recognition. Hopefully we get our hands on the main thing instead.

Troy is a good player but IMO, and i've said this before, is over-rated. He makes one or two highlight reel hits but he misses a fair few in the process.

I think it is ridiculous that A) Urlacher got 2 votes B) Tamba Hali got zero. He has been excellent IMO and would be second behind Matthews if DMVP was down to me.

Like how just like Jared Allen last year, most of Matthews sacks came in big clumps against only a couple of teams?

Ed Reed missed 6 games and had a ton of picks he was more deserving than Troy, Hali certainly was.

He had 6 after the first two weeks (3 against Philly, 3 against Buffalo) but he was pretty consistent and got 10 more in his remaining 13 games (He missed the game versus Miami). He got injured and pretty much didn't do any practice between week 5 and a few weeks ago but was still consistent.

Maybe he didn't deserve it (although IMO he did), but i'm more annoyed that Polamalu got it than Matthews missed out.

The NFL would be a laughing stock if it was down to you mate. Massively biased. probably through years of watching Saints has denied you the ability to look past your own team.

Brady wins offensive player of the year This was a no brainer the way he played IMO, it's a nice thing for him to win but ultimately he/the team missed out on our main goal of getting to the SB, but C'est la vie I have a feeling Vick may win the MVP even though there's been better players IMO. If they are going to take into account play-offs this year (they are announcing it just a few hours before the SB so it's possible) then Rodgers should be in with a shot aswell.
