Yes you a correct this could have and probably should have happened years ago.

It's testament to the efforts of the people involved that it's taken until now. The Shay was a millstone, which is annoying as it ought to have been anything but. Did the Thrum Hall money ever materialise?

Cheers. I'm not so sure how well we'll do in next season. No-one really expected us to get promoted this season so will just take next year as it comes I suppose. You are right about Gigg Lane, however next year is our last year of a 3 year deal to play league games at Bury, so chances are we'll be offski's after that. We've already announced Fa cup/Vase games will be played at Alty next season.

Won't be as good an atmosphere at Alty, I'd have thought - I think the fact that only certain areas of the ground being open etc definitely adds to the atmosphere, although obviously you have to weight that up against the rent issue.

Barrow promoted to the Conference after a 1-0 play-off final win btw, unbelieveable turnaround considering they were bottom six at the New Year. Indeed, RMI's only away win of the season came at Holker Street on a wet Tuesday night

It is sad considering that only two seasons ago they were minutes away from being in the football league. It was that 2006 play-off final against Hereford that proved to be the turning point for the club. Since then it has gone from bad to worse for town and unfortunately the inevitable has finally happened.

Shame they're not in the Football League, if so they could just fail to put a CVA together and be allowed to play on in the same division with just a 15 point deduction.
