I only usually have a look on Saturday unless I'm off work and theres some decent racing on. A majority of the midweek stuff is rubbish.


£15 on Mister Carter @ 15/8. Went from 15/8 to 2/1.

Fancied laying Voromar Two on Betfair but it should win this if it can reproduce its efforts in defeat. Odds of 1/2 on Betfair for the lay diidn't really appeal. Its odds went a bit better near the off so that put me off the lay. Silver Kate got it by about a head. Excellent finish.

Mister Carter ran/jumped more like a 200/1 shot than 2/1 2nd favourite.

Yep shocking run from Mister Carter - Sorry about that.

However, Hurricane Higgins ran a very nice début and is deffo one to follow with showing signs of greenness drifting over track when went in front a few furlongs out.

I'm not forcing anyone to back these.... Pay your money take your chance.

Aye, everything was there for Mister Carter to put in a big run. Just didn't happen on the day, always can happen.


Don't fancy backing a novice hurdler at odds on at a track like Chepstow where the ground will be terribly soft. Having a tenner on Smad Place instead @ 9/4. Sam Winner could hack up, but Smad Place has had a slightly longer rest and is equally highly rated. Can't see the Cheltenham prices changing much though after this, Cheltenham on better ground is a world away from soft/heavy at Chepstow.

Not gonna bother with anything else now. Two losers and the ground isn't ideal so going to give up til next weekend.

These juvenile hurdles are a bookies paradise with ground like this so, instead of packing in like intended, I've got a lay on Comedy Act at Sandown to try and recoup some of the 25 I've lost on Mister Carter and Smad Place.

Was well beat in the end, wasn't keen on the ground from what I could make out on Betfair radio. Gets me a little bit back. Now just over a tenner down for the day instead of 25. Would maybe lay a few more but don't fancy risking what I've won back. On days like today, you can never be sure. I could lay either Toubab or the Henderson horse and watch it run a stinker, or revel in the ground and canter home. Money back in my bank til next week when hopefully we will have a bit better ground.

As said on ATR, the race was ran at a modest pace and turned into a dash inside the last half mile, by which point Marsh Warbler was already going best of the lot. I wouldn't let today's race put anybody off Sam Winner or Smad Place if they fancy them for Cheltenham which will likely see a truly run race with a bigger field.

Not my day today. Only in the bookies for 10mins. 13.10 @ Chepstow next off. Wrote out £2.50ew on Marsh Warbler @ 8/1 but screwed it up and had it on Cheery Cat
