While he may not be a choker/bottler he still needs to learn how to turn up when the final comes along and I don't like the quote after the game that if he never wins a slam it won't be the end of the world,to me he should be saying i'm desperate to win one and i'll do everything I can to make it happen.There was somebody on the radio a couple of days ago saying his mother needs to take more of a back seat as she's always there with him at every tournament.

what's his mother got to do with anything ? he's either good enough or not surely ?

He was saying something about him needing to get a greater mental strength and to mature more and having his mother around him all the time will not be helping him achieve this.

it didn't seem to affect Jimmy Connors - his mum almost bullied him off court and he ended up with eight Majors from fifteen finals !

You could hardly accuse Connors of being a bottler. He did win his first three grand slams that he played in. You therefore need to find a better example if you want to make jokes about the opening thread. HTH.

As anyone ever got in to one of those arguments when you don't believe in what you're saying 100% but then you feel you have to carry it on and defend your original stance down to protecting your own ego ?
