and with Beckham is was a question of match fitness - he hasn't had the injury record Owen has - plus pace was never a massive factor in Beckhams game.

I remember a foot race between Beckham and Ian Harte in front of the west stand at elland road - it was like slow motion.

Completely different situation, David Beckham was never injury prone and shouldn't have been put in exile by Steve McClaren in the first place it was McClaren wanting to make a statement and it backfired...
