The fee, I'm sure even he'd agree, is stupendously inflated. But, I'm sure he'll agree, he has the ability to be one of the best forwards in the league. He's huge, an absolute handful for defenders, his aerial ability is unmatched, whilst I wouldn't call him as slow as some others call him. It's costly, stupidly costly, but he is, IMO, the ideal type of player to play alongside Suarez. Carroll's a team player, he's physical, he will provide that physical, strong threat that we'll lack with Suarez, whilst Suarez will provide the ability, the agility and the threat along the deck. We have a very good strike partnership now, IMO, one big, one small, that provides just about every threat to the opposition other than express pace. It may take a while, but I have faith it will work out eventually. Disappointed we've spent so much (close to £60m for the partnership), but I'm so glad we have actual owners who understand the needs for the team, they knew we couldn't go out and replace Torres with one player, so now we have two and they've put the team's needs first.
I'm just hoping he keeps his feet on the ground and doesn't fall into his so called off-field exploits. It's a big weight on his shoulders being part of the 2nd most expensive British transfer (1st one will be done later), but if he produces the goods, I'll be more than pleased.
Agree about the owners, I shudder to think what Hicks and Gillette would have done in this situation. At least Henry has a clue about what's going on and what needs to be done.
Just hope the Torres deal gets done and dusted tonight. If he goes, I'll wish him well (unlike some people I know who want him to break his leg first game), but once he goes I'll forget about him. New strike force, new start. I'm not going to hate Torres, neither will he be booed by me when he comes back to Anfield. He's gone to win trophies, and at the moment there is more chance of doing that at Chelsea than there is at Liverpool.
The man is a scumbag of the highest order. The last time I was annoyed about something like this was when Donald Brashear signed for the NY Rangers, but that's a different sport.
I'll tell you what pressure is. "Grand final, only seconds to go, and a field goal attempt with a split testicle and your shoes on the wrong feet."
He's neck scars proves he's lost his head Tevez, Tevez
He'll never have a sexy bird Tevez, Tevez
The argy lover, the ugly ****, they sewn his head on back to front
Carlos Tevez, herman munster head.

As for Torres, I think some will be pleasantly surprised if Chelsea play him in a 4-4-2, he really is the type of player that wants space and his own 'room' to work in, can't see him and Drogba hitting it off, personally.
Sounds like you should have gone for Kevin Nolan and i bet it'd been a fraction of the price
