Onyewu isn't quite of Fernando's caliber, but a 'solid' player nonetheless.

I'm actually pretty gutted for him. Although he plays for Chelsea, he's one of my favourite players of all time and his run of bad luck is really unfortunate. I always enjoy seeing sides at top strength in the world cup, simply because it makes it a better spectacle.

I'd love people to combine a list of all the 'top' players who won't be going to the world cup. I think it would support the argument of the Champions League being the most competitive football tournament in the world, which is something I'm beginning to believe more and more as international football's decline continues.

I like Ballack aswell and was kinda gutted when he got injured too. Doesn't have the best of luck when it comes to WCs.

To me it just means one less player able to score a penalty to put us out

Barca are in advanced talks with David Villa, about to start talks with Fabregas and are ready to bid for Torres.

Their team will be jizztastic next year if all three happen.

All depends if they can offload Ibrahimovic for a decent wedge. In other news Madrid will pay Inter €22 million for Mourinho.
Villa could be a Barça player before the end of the month according to the Catalan news this morning.
