Interesting to see the papers getting excited about Wazza saying he hates Liverpool, as if we didn't already know.

Manchester will draw the weakest team left in the competition and get easy run to final.

Well, AC Milan are already out, but if we finish the job next week, we shouldn't be too scared of anyone left in the competition.

Indeed. We look good in Europe. Probably because European teams let us play football, and because we can play on the break - always useful away from home in Europe. If De Jong and Bonjovi were eligible for the rest of the tournament, I would be much more confident.

RE Aalborg: I think it will be tough next week but I do fancy us to score, thus Aalborg wil need to score 4. We did well last night considering we were missing De Jong and Bojinov (both not registered), while Kompany, Petrov, Bellamy and Sturridge are injured.

Some of the stuff produced by Ireland and Robinho last was phenomenal. Ireland has gone from annoying and inconsistent, to one of the best midfielders in the PL this season. Highlight of the football season for me.

It disappoints me that people get excited by one-trick ponies like Ashley Young but won't even mention the likes of Ireland. The lad has a great engine, very good tackler, has vision, a great touch, good passer and is scoring goals. He also performs well in games against the better teams - arguably MOM at Old Trafford last season. The press though get all excited by Young after he dribbles past the happless Stoke full-back and nutmegs Scott Carson.

Agreed. We also seem to have learnt to be able to play sensibly and rely on countering (well, at least we managed last night). Very pleasing not to concede – which would have been typically City.

I also don't think it's any coincidence that Richards and Dunne have finally started showing some form – since the arrival of Given. We're not solid at the back yet, but we are beginning to show some more stability.

Ireland has been a revelation this term – not least because he's managed such consistency. And some of the tricks and flicks last night were an absolute delight.

Well, we've already disposed of the team that is top of the Danish league.

Sparky's comment afterwards was rather funny: he said that the ref had obviously been too mesmerised by the quickness of Robinho's feet to actually consider the foul.

The Other Half, who is not a football fan, even came out with something between a guffaw and a sheer whoop at those six step-overs.

The good thing about me is that I have a mind of my own, and don't just project the knee-jerk opinion of Rupert Murdoch, or any relevant media mogul.

A few on her ought to try it sometime, though I'm not sure they have the mental capacity.
