It's difficult to know whether that interview was the same one they were writing about, but there was a significant amount of what he said in the interview that it seemed like the right one.
I just don't see why Hughes would antagonise Moyes at this point. Saturday went pretty much perfectly for him. Citeh won, away from home, their new players all showed a great deal of promise, Everton got absolutely mauled which would pretty much speed up the Lescott transfer. Why pi55 Moyes off and possibly make him stubbornly refuse to do a deal?
Even if he did say it, I don't think it's that bad. It's a pretty accurate summing up from him - Everton don't like the situation because they're possibly going to lose one of their best players to a club with bigger clout and potential. It's nothing like the "small club" comments that Fergie came out with.
