It was a very good nights work for Ricky Hatton. Apart from a slightly sluggish first round he won every round comfortably and looked a class above Malignaggi to be honest who had a jab and that's it. It was as good a boxing performance that I've seen from Ricky for years, maybe his best. Malignaggi didn't want to know and spoiled the fight by hugging Hatton, which I found ironic considering his comments in the build up. If he hadn't kept holding Hatton after some big punches, he could have easily got knocked out.
This puts Ricky in the shop window for a big fight next year and I've no doubt his next fight will be against the winner of Pacquaio and De La Hoya. They'll want it just as much as Ricky.
