He isn't saying that they should put out that banner, just if Evertonians did you wouldn't like it. So why stand behind this one? It's ridiculous. It's glorifying Heysel. It's saying "Ha ha. Because of the deaths cause by fellow supporters in one of our matches you could not go to the European Cup". It's really indefensible, really immature, and really showing the ugly side of football. Liverpool aren't the only club guilty of showing off an ugly side. Why get defensive? You claim Evertonians are bitter, they will no doubt react negatively to this, is it bitter or understandable to object to this?
At the end of the day banners like this, chants about deaths and goading the personal tragedies of players need to go from the sport no matter who is doing it. One of your famous managers once said "Football isn't life or death, it's much more important than that." Well he was wrong. He was talking rubbish. It's not, and people need to stop acting like it is.
