Oh yeah I forgot Newcastle are such a good side it could not possibly happen. It was only a day or so ago you were saying how he would not leave as he has everything he wants and that the club would not sell even for big money and that you would challenge for the top 6 before too long.

24 hrs later and he has put in a transfer request and you have let him go, does not sound like a club with any ambition to me. How much will be re-invested back into the side?

Have to agree with that. To be honest he seems like the type of player who just gets on with things so good luck to him and Blackpool for that matter.

As a Liverpool fan I can't say I'm that bothered we didn't sign him as whilst his passing ability would have been an asset I feel we had more urgent positions to cover such as CB, LB and the two wings. But the ship has set sail and apparantly it's heading for the isle of lunacy. £35m for Carroll. Quite clearly Ashley is a

Blind faith Paul I hear/see it every day! Only this morning on the way into work I mentioned Liverpool are after Carroll & the response from the lad in the car was "he wont leave cos he is a geordie!" (yeah he really did say that!) When they knocked back the 30m bid they was all spouting off we not a selling club to which I pointed out that just maybe ashley wants a bit more money to finance his next visit to aspers! Signings of Torres and Luiz confirmed. Absolutely delighted.

Even though he was playing for that scouse filth, I don't think there's many Chelsea fans who wouldn't have taken him in a heartbeat. Never thought we'd get him.

Know nothing about Luiz. But we wanted him and we got him. With Alex recovering from injury we'll hopefully start to build up our defensive strength again.

Glad about Sturridge going out on loan. He now has a chance to prove whether he's good enough. He wasn't getting the time he needs with us and hopefully he will now. If he's not good enough I'd prefer he shows it somewhere else rather than damaging us.

Delighted that the scousers have spent 70% of their transfer fee on Carroll. You know the scousers, they'll try and justify their position now it's happened. But inside they're crying.
