Arshavin - Not a winger really, does not beat a man and put a cross in. More of an attacking midfielder imo.
Is a better passer and crosser of the ball, and is far better in front of goal. He is also more effective at beating man than Valencia.
Lennon - Great pace, often lacks a final ball but has become much mroe consistent this season and should go to the WC if fit.
His final ball this season, has been far better than that provided by Valencia. He also better at beating the full-back.
Cole - Very good player on his day, can't remember the last time that was, nowhere near as good as Valencia this season.
He's been injured all season, but if he and Valencia were available, would you honestly think that more clubs would be interested in signing Valencia?
Malouda - Always liked him right from his Lyon days.
Personally, I don't rate him that highly. If he played for West Ham he would be a slight upgrade on Luis Boa Morte....okay....a slight exaggeration. Regardless, I don't rate him.
Modric - Like Arshavin, more of an attacking midfielder.
He's certainly more of an attacking midfielder but can play outwide and in the middle. More intelligent than Valencia, makes the right decisions and can ghost past players. He's also a good passer of the ball
Kranjcaer - Decent player, got an eye for goal but would not have him over Valencia.
See comments about Malouda
Young - Very inconsistent and not been at his best this season, young enough to get better.
One-trick-pony more interested in trying to get the refs attention. Good crosser of teh ball and his set pieces can be very good
Milner - Would have him at Utd in a heartbeat and play him and Valencia on each wing.
Decent player but against a deep-lying defence, where he has to use a bit of trickery to get past a defender, he is very average.
Petrov - Always looked good when I have seen him, don't understand why he does not get more games, would rather have Valencia though.
He's lazy and meek. However, his passing, crossing and shooting is on a different planet to that of Valencia.
He is a striker but has played as a winger virtually all season. He's quicker, more intelligent and a bigger goal threat than Valencia
Etherington - Average PL winger, nowehere near as good as Valencia
'Being average' is Valencia's level. Etherington is sharper, more intelligent and technically better
I did state "wingers / wide players".
As for Valencia, he's had a handful of decent games, just like he had at Wigan last season. He was poor during the second-half of 2008/09. But then even at the beginning of that season he only 'performed' so well because he got lucky with some long shots.
As usual with United fans, he was a nothing player while at Wigan. Within a few months of joining United he becomes brilliant, excellent etc..
