So that's 2 home games out the way for Wigan. W0 D0 L2 F0 A10. Roberto has to be struggling?

He won't last long. Couldn't happen to a nicer club. Love to see that prick Whelan languishing back in the Championship.

6-0 is not a reflection of the game? You don't lose 6-0 without being awful at the top level. If Roberto is replaced will Whelan go English? You know in the way that Martinez is English

Wigan were the better side in the first half.

However, they barely created a chance and Chelsea managed to go in at half time 1-0 ahead.

The second half was a 5-0 stroll for Chelsea.

IMO Martinez's biggest fault is that he should have killed off the game at 3-0 and just taken that defeat. Instead everything stayed the same with Wigan trying to get a consolation and Chelsea stroll to a 6-0 win.

I don't think getting done by Chelsea will be what gets Martinez the sack. But getting done by Blackpool 4-0 will. I think'll stuff Hartlepool in the week, get turned over by Spurs and Martinez will have the Sunderland game to keep his job.

New midfielder came, was playing in November, waited about 5 months to get a chance, was the brightest part of the team in a dire finish to the season. Result? Loaned out to Juve. Not sold, not player traded, but loaned!

I'm not gonna contradict myself, I said before he came and when he came, my biggest fear with Roy was his ability in the transfer market and the type of player he likes to manage. Look at what he signed at Fulham, it's scary, then I see us signing Poulsen and trying to sign Luke Young/Konchesky/Figueroa, it's scary what type of player he's deeming good enough for us.

Aquilani - on pure footballing talent - is right up there with the best in the league, in terms of passing, touch, technique, vision and sheer ability, he is immense, whilst he shown last season he has terrific energy levels. I refuse to believe he's too 'lightweight' and I refuse to believe it's a fitness thing. He's better than Joe Cole, so I can't understand what Roy's motive is by letting him go.

This must be based on what you have seen of him in Serie A as he has not shown that over here on an anywhere near consistent basis. Something can't be right with him, Rafa did not play him and now Roy.

He's the one who broke Elano at the World Cup. I haven't seen much of him myself so cannot comment but he plays in a postion we desperately need to strengthen. Read a few Dutch forums about him, Twente fans rate him very highly which is good news.
