Anyone any real fancies on the darts tomorrow ? It looks a really tough first day to be honest. A bit dissapointed that Baxter has been dropped, but the new additions add something more to the comp too.
Webster vs Wade
Webster has turned pro and gone full time now he is in the premier league which should raise his game again. His performances in the WC showed he has the talent and the extra time he has available to work on the boards will help him. The question is can he beat Wade ? Wade is one of the most talented players in the game but also one of the most unpredictable too. Not sure his split with his famous ex girlfriend has done anything to his game, and the defeat to Suljovic was embarresing. Think this will be a close game.
Recommendation - Webster +1.5 bt Wade @ 8/11 Hills
Anderson vs Whitlock
Anderson is the biggest scorer in the game, the only thing lacking from his game is his finishing, however that improved big time in the WC. Whitlock was dissapointed to lose to Van Der Voort as he was everyones tip to dethrone Taylor. His performances in the PL though have been very good in his debut year last year finishing with 7 wins, 2 draws and 5 losses. Again it looks a close game, although I dont think Anderson deserves to be Evs favourite.
Recommendation - Whitlock +1.5 bt Anderson @ 8/11 Ladbrokes
Anderson Most 180's @ 10/11 Ladbrokes
Barney vs Jenkins.
Thought Jenks may have been dropped instead of Baxter or King, but hey ho. Think he could be the bet to finish bottom to be honest, to go with last years wooden spoon. Think he is one to take on this year, and Barney will want to do better than his 6th place position last season (previous years 2-3-3). Barney bt Wade 8-5 at the O2 Arena last season on the opening round and he is a confidence selection to dispose of Jenks here too.
Recommendation - Barney bt Jenkins @ 5/6 Generally Available
Taylor Vs Lewis
Mmmm, the World Champion (Lewis) @ 5/2 to beat the fading Taylor ? Ive seen worse bets around but again its a tough one to call. You cant knock Lewis achievements after finally grabbing the big prize and I hope he kicks on from this, but Taylor has always been his bogey player. Not sure how to call this one, but the bet lies in tthe 180 market where Lewis has the edge mainly due to Taylors odd movement to T19.
Recommendation - Lewis most 180's @ 8/11 Hills.
Also wouldnt put anyone off backing the daws in each game. I wont be going crazy, but a small staked yankee on all 4 games finishing in a draw @ 4/1 at Ladbrokes will give everyone an interest in what looks a tough and close opening night.
LETS PLAY DARTS !!!!!
P.S. Heard Hawaii 501 is commentating too.
