Did Fergie play Anderson on the left, then?

Yep he did and played two wingers on the right :x i can understand why he kept Park on the pitch as he hasn't had a full pre season but my god he was GASH tonight. I think we just lacked pace and fitness in the midfield. I just hope he goes with Valencia, Fletcher, Anderson/Carrick/scholes and Tosic on saturday as Giggs has looked poor for the last two games, Park is not fit at all.

Full credit to Burnley though they played very good football at times in the style of West Brom last season but seem to have a defence that can cope with sustained attack from the opposition, the ammount of times we were restricted to shots from outside of the box was unreal and it seemed every shot had a defender magnet on it as someone always managed to get in the way.

Fergusons 'tactics' cost us the champions league final and certainly failed to inspire tonight. I understand the need to rest players, but two games into season?!

How many newpaper reports will mention "creativity", "Cristiano Ronaldo" and "missed" though?

You've stolen my washing
From out my back garden
You've tarmacked my driveway
Even though I said no
You've nicked my lead flashing
And weighed it in at the scrappy
Oh St Helen's tatters
Come rob me again

Nah, we're doing it in reverse this time. The media will bum us like they did Stoke last season, mark my words.

It wasn't the defence for me, it was Jensen in goal...how annoying are those inane Beast chants going to get this season too???? He was superb though to be fair to him...and didn't he used to play for West Brom too?? Maybe they should have kept him and left that romany Carson to f++k someone else up!!

Johnson was pure class last night what a home debut linked up well with Kuyt and Gerrard picked him out time after time with the runs he made he took on stoke players and beat them, looks like just what we needed first half was abit off passes going into touch etc but clicked in the second some great movement and passing, Lucas had a good game as well got stuck in alot Ayala looked nervous to say the least with the ball at his feet but was pretty faultless in defence, it was all about Johnson though great stuff.

Quite a weak Barcelona side out only Carlos Puyol of the "Barça Big Boys" playing and he was replaced after 30 Minutes...

They brought on Messi, Ibrahimovic & Alves in the second half, although City countered by bringing on Ben Haim, Etuhu, Trippier & Garrido.

The final corner count of 15-2 probably summed up the balance of play. The travelling and lack of sleep is an obvious negative but City's defenders will have gained far more from this game than a week of training at Carrington, for a similar level of injury risk.

Was just going to point this out. Indeed, Barça's team for the evening:

Pinto; Montoya (Alves, 46), Puyol (Marc Bartra, 30), Fontas (Pique, 65), Maxwell; Sergio; Yaya Toure (Jonathan, 46), Gudjohnsen (Keita, 46); Jeffren Gai, 54), Bojan (Ibrahimovic, 46), Pedro (Messi, 46).
