The first ten minutes I heard:
"Rafa Benitez has been causing a few arguments of late, first Big Sam and now Dave Whelan".
Then it was:
"There are loads of empty seats around Anfield tonight, mainly in the Anfield road away end, Portsmouth only brought 300 so the others were made available for Liverpool supporters, but they haven't bothered taking up the option".
Which was followed by:
"The atmosphere is like an England school boys game".
Right, everybody knows the atmosphere is dead at Anfield, every game we're on, he mentions the atmosphere being dead and tense. Everybody knows that Pompey won't have brought many and it's unlikely that, given our recent form and the game being on a Monday night, we'll sell out the game, especially with Pompey bringing so little.
You just have to listen to his commentary, he gets so excited when the opposition have a semi chance. Give him half a chance to have a pop at us and he'll grasp it with both hands, he's almost as bad as Burley.
