Good stuff Wire85 - glad you're siding with the best jockey in the world over in Ireland

Two big races this weekend - the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock and the Victoria Cup at Ascot. There's no decs through for the former yet (they arrive tomorrow) but he latter features some highly intriguing runners.

Dandy Boy - Relatively unexposed 4yo who made a good return to the track on the polytrack surface at Dundalk last month when running third to a useful performer in Banana Boirche. Colm O'Donoghue rode him that day and in his previous starts and he again keeps the ride for the big race on Saturday. Horses with winning form on UK polytrack surfaces often do well over the straight course at Ascot and I see no reason why Dandy Boy can't translate his AW form to the turf this weekend. He's far from being a one trick pony however and won on soft turf over 6f at Tipperary last year in a maiden race prior to racking up the first of his two AW Dundalk wins (3-2-0-1 record at the track/surface). David Marnane is a very shrewd operator particularly when it comes to raids on the UK and he won another big handicap last year at Doncaster in the Portland over 5.5f with a similar type (good AW record, improving 4yo) in Santo Padre. His overall record in the UK last year reads 2 wins from 5 runners (the second winner was Partner on the AW at Lingfield).
