Paranoid bunch of rebels, and as for the wee ginger gland!! "Lennon must stay"
I think prejudice against Celtic in the dim and distant past is pretty much indisputed. I think you only have to look at the amount of caps the Lisbon Lions got between them to notice something was wrong. Any excuse was found to give average players places in the international team at Celtic players' expense. The fact that the Tri-colour was not allowed to fly at Celtic Park, and the amount of anti-Irish/Catholic feeling there ihas been down the years around that God forsaken part of the country, all goes to add fuel to the fire.
Fortunately, the prejudices of the past have largely gone, but a lot of Celtic fans can't let go of the fact that they were wronged in the past and now assume every bad decision that goes against them is part of some ongoing conspiracy. Celtic are my Scottish team but some of the paranoia is laughable at times.
As for Neil Lennon, well he won his first 16 league games after taking over a team that was bloody awful. He can't work miracles overnight but has totally revamped the side, and until Sunday, he had an incredible league record considering the amount of transition the squad is going through.
He won't win the league this year. There is no way Watty is going to bow out without it, and he just knows how to beat Celtic. Whether your success carries on beyond him, who knows, or will it crumble big time like it did last time he left? With little money around, it's distinctly possible.
