LOVE UNITED - HATE GLAZER

"DEBT IS THE ROAD TO RUIN" - David Gill, August 2004

Malcolm Glazer - Forever in your DEBT

Re: More Football Chat : Wed Feb 10, 2010 12:15 am
Lord God Jose Mourinho wrote:
Okay, so the Glazers have suddenly decided that they don't want to put up with the awful strain that the Green and Gold campaign is putting on them. They are prepared to sell the club for it's fair market value.

I don't know how much the club is worth at present, but the last figure I saw mentioned was roughly about £800m.

So you've got three "Red Knights" each willing to stump up £200m. The Red Knights want the rest of the MU supporters to pay the remaining £200m

Now what?

Are you hoping these Red Knights are handing over £200m out of the goodness of their hearts, or are they in it for a profit as well?

At least 50 Red Knights have stated they want to pump cash to buy the Club. MUST (who are coordinating the deal) and IMUSA ideally want whoever that comes in to offer a % stake in the Club. MUST/IMUSA aren't stupid enough to realise that they will get the stake for free.

The realistic price that the Glazer's will sell is around £1.2billion.

The Red Knights will obviously be in it to earn money, just as all shareholders did when the club was a PLC. However, unlike the Glazer's they won't be pumping millions of debt onto the Club, nor taking 75p from every £1 to service the debt, or line their own pockets.

the inevitable price rise and the almost pointless nature of a season ticket is making me unsure whether to renew next season. Might just get a membership and do the Euro aways, the odd away game and the decent home games.

I've only attended a handful on home games this season. I'm pretty lucky that I know a few people in the loyalty pot, so I've managed to get to a few aways. The only negative point I've had from not renewing, is that I've not been to OT every week, but it was impossible for me to renew this season.

Stoke aren't a bad team. Heard you were all over them first half.

:D

We've got a Facebook group for sorting away tickets if you fancy joining it?

It's funny how the often derided League Cup has provided the best aways of the season in Barnsley and City. Boston away with FC is where it is at anyway, GT will tell you that. Oh wait he has never been to Boston! 8)

It would be fascinating observing 50+ multi millionaires, with associated egos, pumping £20m ish each into the club and then sitting back with the rights that 2% shareholders enjoy.

How would they make any significant decisions? How would they deal with, say, a transfer request from Rooney? In theory they would set up some sort of governance stucture to make those decisions, but people with that sort of money are generally not used to the role of sleeping partners.

Do you know what the problem with arsenal is?

Wenger is too damn stubborn.

He's too stubborn to admit his ''young guns policy'' was wrong and that he needs to dip his hand into his pocket and sign some big experienced players. All he ever does is sign young inexperienced but with potential.

He's too stubborn to go back on his total football philosophy when the time arises and play more direct to win the big games.

He's a stubborn idiot and arsenal will not win the title again while he is in charge.

No it wasn't. The italians were a nasty set of kunts. Only liverpool were bothered about segregating the fans, no one else. Italian fans threw rocks at liverpool fans and players.

That could easily have killed or seriously njured people.

The only tradegy there was that innoncent italians died and not the trouble makers.

I saw some 3D football last night whilst at Citeh. They were doing a trial at the game and managed to get a look at it at half time.

It's the future.

Pompey tax debts are actually £11.5m not the claimed £7.5m. They have been given an extra 7 days to provide "a statement of affairs" after claiming they have two serious bids on offer to buy the club.
