Amusing all the Newcastle fans texting into the BBC bascially saying the relegation is all down to Mike Ashley .
Fact is the club never recovered from Fat Freddy sacking Bobby Robson because fifth in the Premier League wasn`t good enough for a club of Toons stature ( his words ) .
I can remember then Manchester City Chairman Peter Swales sacking a manager many years ago because Man City only came fifth ( John Bonds ? ) - it took the club the best part of thirty years to recover .

one of the down sides of relegation. a team that has stayed up by the skin of it's teeth, having won just one of their last 21 games and only minutes after being beaten at home is celebrating, singing their manager's name and giving their very average players a standing ovation.

Credit where credit is due. A team of 'average' players has none the less stayed in the premier league. It makes no difference how they did it or by how much they stayed up by. They stayed up and that is that!!
