Football fans in calling opposition player a nice person then they sign him first. Have you not seen this happen before? New to the game?

I'm still laughing at the idea Torres is woth £50,000,000 and Andy Carroll is worth £35,000,000. I wonder what hallucinogenic drugs those idiots who decided to pay that obscene amount of money were on ?

Had a few emails today about betting odds from lads I knew at Uni who are big into betting. They mention the odds for Moyes being the next Premier League manager to leave being reduced to evens.

I'm not even sure what that means but I guess it means his odds have been cut meaning the reckon he could be leaving?

The odds will be shortening because people are backing him to go next. There aren't any jobs available (are there?) so I wouldnt be surprised to see him stay till the end of the season or beyond.

If he does who would you want coming in, reasonably I mean?
And would you want them to play a little bit more football than you do under Moyes at the minute? I'm not having a go at Moyes as he's done as well as anyone possibly could have done at Everton, he's just a little bit more defensive/organisationally minded than attack-minded.

The son of a mate of mine has got his first job working for the bookies. He's got a 1st class maths degree, they're paying him a small fortune for a 21 year old. He's specialising in designing programmes to calculate the odds for in match betting. Its all maths.

I dunno. Someone like Sam Alardyce who can get the best out of very little resources. Managing Everton now would be like the job he did at Bolton, but with a couple of better players and a better youth system so he should be able to do a good job.

There aren't that many foreign managers who would relish taking on that challenge now.

What worries me more than the manager is them keeping hold of the star players. The likes of Baines, Jagielka, Fellaini, Rodwell and Heitinga would all attract bids from clubs in a better position than Everton.

Re: Football Chat Thread : Wed Feb 02, 2011 2:22 pm
Ben Smith of The Times said the rumour is just that. Can't see Moyes walking unless he has better options available, which, to be honest, he doesn't.

Still, quite worrying for Everton, I'm not sure what's changed at the club, they've gone from signing players like Bily and Fellaini, to scraping the barrel for loan deals. He'll have to get Rodwell back in the team and get that transfer fee pumping high, as he's got a bit of a rebuilding job on his hands, and Rodwell's potential fee is probably more useful to them than Rodwell sat on the bench.

Have you heard the 'Sweet Carroll 9' one? Tickled me up. If it gets a stadium going, however cringe-worthy it may be, it's good for me.
