you mean making the most of what he had?

TV is hardly short of ex liverpool is it? Lawrenson, Hansen every MOTD, Souness, the articulate Jamie, Thompson for proper impartiality, Mcmananan on ESPN although he is relatively objective.

Lawro is just daft, does anybody actually listen to him? Same with Redknapp. Only ones I'd claim are properly bias are Hansen and Thommo, but they're hardly the malicious types like Neville.

I mean, Neville was gash and his better teammates carried him to have a massively successful career. A player of his talent doesn't deserve that amount of silverware, regardless of how he maximised his potential.

The kind of test Hodgson failed dismally with though, so it's all good ;)

If he'd been that gash they'd have binned him earlier than they did.

When you consider the situation we were in, every game from now until the end of the season should be deemed 'a test'. Chelsea away will be a real challenge, probably one of the toughest three fixtures of the season. We've done well under Kenny and things are picking up, but we're a long way off beating the likes of Chelsea at the Bridge, but I won't rule it out.

Bit harsh, in his pomp he was a very good defensive fullback. No Pat Van Den Hauwe it has to be said, but he deserves a few soppy career wraps on Sky and the BBC over the coming weeks.

obviously not blessed with the skill of a Scholes or Giggs, but to say he is gash is rubbish. His combination down the right with Beckham when they were both in their primes was superb.

I don't actually have a problem with Hansen, United fan apparently, Neville obviously doesn't like scousers and he is honest about that, i think it was Carragher who came out and said he understood what he meant because there are some players who understand the rivalry. Gerrard i think it was who said how much the United boys (presumably including Neville) made him welcome when he first got called up by england.

Other than his anti scouse feelings - i think you'll find he normally talks a reasonable amount of sense and is pretty articulate and confident for a footballer.

Gary Neville has been magnificent for Utd and has been a cornerstone over the success under Fergie. Definately the right time to retire. Wonder if he will take Ole's old job?

On MOTD they've called Neville the best right back in the prem. I might be biased but Gary Kellys right behind him and would have been top had he played in a title winning team!

To be fair can you think of many better Premier League right backs over the years?

We could get Mourinho tomorrow and with no money he'd fair little better than Moyes.

To say we have no ambition is just stupid, every club has ambition. I don't think for one minute Moyes will leave anyway. IMO Moyes will be here for many more years too.

I'm a big Moyes fan and will defend to for the most part but most managers wouldn't, when needing a goal, have thrown on Jagielka to play right back either. Most managers wouldn't have let three players leave a very thin squad, most manager would have brought in 2 or 3 loan players during January. To say 'We're only in the loan market and the quality isn't there to improve us' when there was clearly 5/6 plus moving on loan who would've improved us for 6 months have moved on. It's not just the board and Kenwright who've put us in this position Moyes, through his poor decision making, has too.
