Re: Football Chat Thread : Wed Feb 02, 2011 11:21 pm
Just seen Mancini whinging about the penalty decision on the BBC website. So I found some highlights and had a look at the incident.

Mancini's ****ing joking. Vieri's ran nearly 10m to close down the Brum player, he's ended up clattering into him as the Brum player played the ball past him. It's a blatant penalty that there really should be no debate about.

Refs should be allowed to lay into managers when they moan about decisions and they are clearly wrong.

It's especially bad with the 4th officials. I'm not talking about the Citeh game now, I'm talking about pretty much every game. In every game you get managers or assistants absolutely screaming in the 4th officials face over a clearly correct decision. The 4th officials just have to take it. They should be allowed to argue back and tell managers that if they complain so loud about correct decisions, they lose the right to ever complain about decisions.

Beautiful free kick from Citeh for their second.

To be fair can you think of many better Premier League right backs over the years?

To say we have no ambition is just stupid, every club has ambition. I don't think for one minute Moyes will leave anyway. IMO Moyes will be here for many more years too.

I'm a big Moyes fan and will defend to for the most part but most managers wouldn't, when needing a goal, have thrown on Jagielka to play right back either. Most managers wouldn't have let three players leave a very thin squad, most manager would have brought in 2 or 3 loan players during January. To say 'We're only in the loan market and the quality isn't there to improve us' when there was clearly 5/6 plus moving on loan who would've improved us for 6 months have moved on. It's not just the board and Kenwright who've put us in this position Moyes, through his poor decision making, has too.

Do you think Rodwell will be sold? Utd have apparently been interested for a while but are also showing interest in Henderson. I can't imagine Moyes wanting to sell but his hand may be forced.

But we don't know the position Moyes is in. If he has very little room for extra wages, he couldn't really do anything.

'Every club has ambition'. I'm not so sure about that. I reckon Everton are perfectly happy with being Premier League also-rans. They can't expect success with no investment and there has been no investment and no effort to attract a buyer so they must be happy with their lot. With all the clubs with far less to offer than Everton that have been sold, it amazes me the current board hasn't been picked off by now.

Not at this stage I can't see it, mate. However, in 18 months time, without investement, it could be a whole different situation. Not so much to keep the club afloat we've no problems or worries that way but we don't have cash to invest in the squad. I am worried about where we are going right now, we're slipping and the squad isn't big enough. A few injuries or suspensions and we're in big trouble.

Very true, IF he had no room for wages, but that's a big if. He must've freed up around £100,000 worth of wages by offloading Yakubu, Pienaar, Vaughan and the two young lads so I'd be very surprised if there wasn't room for an extra wages or two.

I do believe every club has ambition, whatever ambition that maybe they all have something to aim for and we're no different IMO. Like you, however, I'm amazed we haven't been bought out or had a decent bit of investment and the finger must be pointed towards Kenwright, he's openly admitted we've had offers and he hasn't felt them right for the club, well we're not in a desperate situation.

On MOTD they've called Neville the best right back in the prem. I might be biased but Gary Kellys right behind him and would have been top had he played in a title winning team!

Kelly was a fine player, some of his tussles with Giggs when they were both young were superb,

Only one I can think of to rival Gary Neville is Lee Dixon, if he even managed to play in the Premier League?

No way. SKY and BBC hate United, both love a good old media scouse love in. Hansen, Lawrenson, Redknapp, Souness, Thompson all directed at bigging up Liverpool. Fck me, when you dicked us at OT it was SSN for about 5 weeks. I agree that Neville shoudln't be on ot as most football fans hate him.
