What do the United fans think of Cleverely? He was very naive today, lacking in tactical discipline. His ball that led to Liverpool's goal was a shocker.

Yes, it wasn't a particularly good game. To be honest, it pretty much typified both side's season

United looked patchy - However, they have that very useful attribute of knowing how to win games even when they are playing no better than their opponents....Van Persie again contributed his valuable goal - Where United would be without him is an interesting thought, and once more when an opposing side put some pressure on their defence, they rocked like a small boat in a stormy sea.

As for Liverpool?...Well, they huffed and puffed, tried to play their pretty little triangles and, generally, were impotent...Once they went 2 down and decided to increase the tempo and go more direct to their frontline, they looked more threatening....Suarez is always tricky, but he tried too hard, which just made him more error prone. Sturridge looked ok, but also looked very one-footed, though he showed enough to suggest he might be a very useful option for them in the future.

Finally, if Frank Lampard is finished at the top end of the Premier League (as Chelsea's bosses seem to think), then how far gone is Gerrard??....You still have to admire his enthusiasm, but he is a pale shadow of what he once was - I can't believe he still gets so much playing time.

My thoughts on today

Liverpool. Why the ####, when they were dominating, was their most influential player (Gerrard) sat in their back four, when he should be affecting what happens 50 yards further up the field. They should have got something from today.

United. Job done for them. Their weeknesses were not exploited, again.....GGRRRRR

Gary Neville. If Wellbeck was man of the match, I suggest Gary doesn't put whisky on his cornflakes, anymore. He was crap.

City. Great first (league) win in nearly 40 years, at Arsenal. Superb.

Mike Dean. Superb performance from him, apart from the diabolical Kompany decision, he got everything else spot on. Just seen some photo stills of the incident, and he wins the ball with one foot, the other is still on the ground, and the Arsenal player is at least a yard away. I still think the FA will ban him, though.

Saddened. Still obsessed with Man City. Shame, really.

It's an orange card. Sometimes it'll be given. Sometimes you'll get away with it.

Mancini talking 5hite about another appeal which won't manage to reach the FA.

What do I think of the tackling technique. It's a pussies tackle. The ball was there to win but it's a 50/50 ball so Kompany dives in and puts the oppo player at risk while maintaining minimum risk to him. The English supporters might feel all misty eyed about the days when Chopper Harris kicked George Best in the air, but anyone who appreciates skill is glad these ball AND man tackles have been outlawed.

Put it this way, if Balotelli did that in training, Mancini would be getting in another round of handbags.

I don't think it's anything to do with Lampard being finished at the top. He could still add something to most teams. The problem is the utterly crazy wages he's on mean that he simply won't bring enough to the table to justify his wages.

It was the same with Drogba.

There is also the rumour that Chelsea are clearing out the players with power because of the way they got AVB out. If that's true, it's utter lunacy from Abramovich. If he thought the players should have got behind AVB then he should have been telling them that last season. He should have backed AVB and told the players to STFU and get on with it.

Instead he sacked AVB and the players showed how good they could be by winning the CL and FA Cup. The players were proved correct. AVB has shown himself to be okay at Spurs, but he has cut out a lot of the stupid nonsense he was doing when he first came to England.

And there's also the fact that the only reason the players have power is because Roman gave it to them.
