Should be a great race the Sussex.
Can't have Paco Boy giving that much weight away to the 3 year olds, also think the horse is better over 7f.
I respect Ghanaati, she looks a nice filly and has won nicely the last twice, but a) I can't and won't back Richard Hills and b) I think the colts this year are far stronger than the fillies.
That leads me to
Rip Van Winkle not the most straight forward of horses but looks a solid bet to me even though 6/4 is a bit skinny. I can see them going a good gallop and I think that will play right into Johnny Murtagh's hands.
He ran his best race last time against the brilliant Sea The Stars and was going extremely well a couple out only to be done by a great horse, not to mention another top class animal Conduit some 4/5 lengths further back. I know that was maybe a bit short for Conduit but that is still the best form in the book by some distance IMO and I don't see the drop to a mile any problem at all.
