Players and managers are often asked to explain their comments or behaviour, Warnock's point was why don't officials. He does have a point, if a ref cocks up he should miss a week or be demoted down a division.
I don't agree with Warnock all the time but, he felt angry about it and had a point, however for making that point he could end up with a fine, which is wrong.
I haven't seen the incident, but reading match reports it seems that it was two players going up for a header, the lino thought it came off a Palace players head so he awarded a corner. TV replays suggest it came off the Villa player.
IMO that happens roughly 5 times a game. It's extremely hard to make that decision so refs and linos are obviously going to make mistakes. You just get over it and defend the corner properly and there's no problem. If your side don't defend properly and let a goal in you can cry like a baby.
Managers are under clear instructions not to slag off officials post match. Warnock has done that. He chucked his dummy out of the pram and the toys followed. He deserves a fine. The limo may have made an error, but it's likely to have been an honest error. Warnock made a decision to slag off the lino after the game. He alluded to having to pay a huge fine if he used the words he wished to use about the lino, he called him incompetent and called for him to be banned for a long time. Warnock's error is far, far larger than the lino.
