I agree with that. Everton have taken the p

The only trouble for them is that they have less than a week to spend any of that money.
Of course, when they snatch someone off another club it will all be fair and above board won't it?
Absolutely right DD!!
To be honest though, despite what EE might try and say, you have bought a quality defender. I am gutted he is leaving, although the price is a bit OTT, he is just exactly what you need at the back.

Would our defensive weaknesses be better addressed by Jagielka or Lescott?
Either. Both are very good defenders, read the game really well too. Probably Lescott just edges it and he'll pop up with the odd goal.

Watched him play for England, and he looked well out of his depth. Lescott looks a tad more assured and can play LB. Our reserve left-backs are Garrido and McGivern. Neither are good enough to play in the PL IMHO.
Harsh to judge Jags on one game, if you had watched him play regular I am certain you would change your opinion. He again is a fantastic centre half, proves it week after week. I wouldn't really mention Lescott as a LB tbh, he is awful there. He can cover if you are short but you are wasting a quality centre half by putting out there as we endured for the first couple of months of last season.

TBH when I watched Everton last season, I thought Lescott was the better of teh two. Neither are any great shakes and are helped a comnsiderable amount by Everton's negative tactics.
Ah, the old Everton negative shot eh. tbf to you it has been about a week since you used that one. If you actually watched us more than twice a season I would take your comments onboard but since they are judged on the Mike Walker/Walter Smith days i'll ignore that dig. Both are much than you perceive here too, both are quality players.

Is Jagielka a City fan, or is it Michael Tongue? I remember watching a Sheff Utd game a few years ago and the commentator said one of them went to City's school of excellence and the other was a Blue.
Jags is an Evertonian, he played for us as a kid and was released I think, from there to Sheff Utd and came back and very worthwhile move by Moyes too.
