Button has said he didn't have the pace to get past Hamilton and Red Bulls decision had no effect on the race result as Webber won the race anyway.

If we are taking the drivers word for it as gospel then Massa said he let Alonso past because he was quicker, and do you think anything would have been said or done if Vettel had won last time out?

I take it you had no problem with the Kovaleinen/"Our" Lewis incident?.

IIRC Hamilton and Kovaleinen wasn't for the race lead it was for 4th place with Kovalienen having tyre problems which Hamilton turned into a win after passing Piquet and Massa.IMO letting a teamate through to win a race that you could win is not the same as letting him through to win a race that you havent a chance to win.

The rule is breached in both cases, Kovaleinen did similar at China and Silverstone as well in 2008 IIRC, if we follow your logic then it isn't a problem that Alonso went past Massa if he wins the title, after all Massa has no chance of doing that but Alonso has a slim one?

Either they are or were both wrong, or neither are - whoever the drivers and whatever the team involved, the nature of the sport and how it works make the "no team orders" rule a stupid one, because all the teams do it to one degree or another (apart from our brave boys obviously).

Just seen on Top Gear a wonderful sequence on quite frankly (in my opinion) the greatest F1 driver of them all, Ayrton Senna Da Silva. So on that note, who is everyone's favourite F1 driver of all time?

Certainly not the cry baby Alonso who had to whinge and get the team to let him pass after been so much quicker than his teamate infront that he couldnt pass him on his own merit.

Without doubt would have to say Senna.

With the points system as it is and just under half of the season to go and Ferrari improving Massa has got as much chance as Alonso to win the title but your love of all things Alonso doesn't let you see that.

As for your 'brave boys' and 'our' Lewis comments I am as much if not more a Williams F1 fan than Hamilton or Button probably due to the fact of them being the dominant team when I started watching F1.

I echo Asim's thoughts...the rule is shocking anyway (team orders) they are a team and therfore they should do waht they please, it was only brought in..in the first place because MS won a race that he shouldn't have when he was winning all the time anyway.

Alonso was 31 points ahead of Massa before today, he's been quicker all season and quicker all weekend - Massa only got in front at the start because Vettel was trying to block Alonso, I think it's pretty obvious who has the better chance of winning Ferrari the title.

I have no love of all things Alonso, I do think some of his petulance is quite amusing and makes him worth watching, I do find it amusing how he was loved in the British media for being the man who saw off Schumacher, but almost overnight became the villain because he didn't get on with our Lewis, and it's funny to see people get worked up about things he does that all drivers do/would do if given the chance. At least when Schumacher was driving people off the track it was easy and obvious to take against him.

I can't find it to "support" anyone in F1, the setup of it being nominally a team sport but the main prize being the drivers championship is a weird one that makes little sense.
