A guy who was the year above me has just been signed by Stade Francais, and is the youngest foreign player they've ever had, he's needed special dispensation from the French Government apparantly.

Not bad to say he had to put up with me as the worst utility player ever for a while

Still as much a load of ignorant crap as it was in the 80s.

Nottingham were a pretty big club in the 80s, almost on a par with the likes of Leicester and Northampton.

Would be a shame to see them go out of business, but at that level I can't see how paying £75k a year just to rent a ground was ever going to be feasible in the long term, particularly not if you can't keep your own bar and catering revenue.

Given that County have just had a significant overseas investor get involved I would hope they can come to some arrangement that doesn't force the rugby club out of the city.

The whole structure of English rugby from the second tier down needs looking at, as there are clubs who are living way beyond their means in the hope they might be able to break into the Premiership as Worcester did.

Very few options if they wanted to ground share as only Ilkeston Town and Hucknall Town are likely options (without moving well away from Nottingham to somewhere like Mansfield).

I am not sure how ground grading comes into it but Moseley used a University pitch for a long while after The Reddings closed so I do not think they are that strict so perhaps a temporary stand at The Bay where they and Nottinghamshire Cricket Club train and Nottingham Outlaws RL play might surfice but I am guessing if that was a real option it would have happened already.

Particularly as the increasingly successful Nottingham Outlaws RL use the RU club's training ground as their home ground.

Nottingham is where the lad in the year above me who's just moved to Stade Francais played last year.

A guy in my year (was actually in my AS German class) played for Leeds in the Sevens thing on saturday, scored a decent try as well.
