The only semblance of excitement comes not when someone scores (because it's so frequent), but when someone misses the basket. The 'action' is literally end to end, ad nauseum.

I think the last few minutes of a close basketball game can get pretty exciting though, well more exciting than NFL anyway.

Which is why they might as well just play a 5 minute match and scrap the rest of it. At least netball has something going for it....
