Undisclosed fees

Could anyone explain why so many transfers as seen in the world of Football are completed with an undisclosed fee.?

Is this to hide something from the tax man.?
For the benefit of the player.?
Or is it for the benefit of the clubs involved.?

I am aware that they do not hide nominal fees as some are believed to be several million pound deals. There must be a simple reason, but I can't think of a genuine one at this moment. Can anyone shed light on this.

I bet tottenham wish they had called Bent's transfer 'undisclosed'

You can usually estimate what the fee is going to be based on rumours.

You can tell with PLC's or at least Spurs as anything over £10m they have to tell the stock exchange about.

We never disclosed the fee for Martyn Woolford because we didn't want other clubs suddenly sticking an extra fifty grand on the price of any player we went after to replace him.

That would make sense. I never looked at it in that way. Thanks

I'm guessing Robbie Keane's is undisclosed to attempt to hide the fact that Liverpool have lost almost 5.5 Million in 6 freeking months!!!

Awesome business Rafa

How many more times does it need to be said?

The reason Rafa is kicking up such a fuss over his contract, is because he wants to decide who he signs, he wants to know his budget and decide how it is spent. Not Rick Parry.

Over the summer, I think we all know Rafa's number one target was Gareth Barry, although he did want Keane, I think if Rafa had things his way, he'd have spent £18m on Barry over Keane. Get it?

Hence why Tom Hicks has called Rick Parry's reign at the club a 'shambles' and has asked for him to stand down, because he's a plonker.
