BBC Story.

Thoughts? Personally I quite like watching a nice tactical frame that goes on a bit, but they might become a thing of the past with less balls on the table.

Just another example of a sport "dumbing down" to attract outsiders and make money?

So what would be the maximum break?

Ronnie's match might be finished within half an hour, but McManus will still be at the table after a couple of days, no matter how many reds there are.

Why does the WPBSA want to attract those with the attention span of a gnat anyway? Snooker is not purely about potting is it; it is also about positional play and manoevring the balls around the table. There is also a mental aspect.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. By all means have some 'entertainment' events as well, with rapid events or trick sessions, but not at the expense of the bread and butter.

Be careful what you wish for. More money seems to ruin a lot of sports.

Not sure on this idea tbh, i thought having 15 reds was ok as its good to see players go for 147's and century breaks and i also dont mind a tactical battle now and again

Think 6 reds is far to short and frames could be over in 5 minutes, i think 10 reds would have been ok, Hopefully it will be a success

Exactly. It's a load of toss aimed at the new breed of Briton with a pitiful attention span.

It failed the first time, pretty much because it was uber bizarre. Combining a quiz show with a snooker match had already been done so ITV decided to do it again, but with less of a connection between the questions and the rounds. There was just no reason for the quiz show portion to exist, and without that, no reason to put it on saturday evenings.

I did love the little pssshht sound as the balls slotted in the pocket, and it was without Jim Davidson so it wasn't all bad.

Perhaps they could combine the two if I was a contestant, and there could be a pleasing pssshht sound as I deck Jim Davidson.
