Kicked off this afternoon with Sri Lanka posting a healthy 319 for the hosts to chase, Dilshan making 106 off 116 balls.

South Africa are 61/1 after 10 overs in reply, so it could be set for a decent conclusion.

I dread to think what is going to happen to us when we come up against these two.

Sri Lanka looking good in this one, and I think the surprise will be if England get close to winning a game.

Errrrm, no.

World Cup Lite, and a fine example of the ICC finding a competition to fill a gap in the calendar when elite players should be resting (see also the World T20).

It should be better than the World Cup, as there is no filler and it has a sensible format, however you can tell plenty of the teams don't take it that seriously.

If they must persist with a "Champions Trophy", along with World Cup and T20 World Cups maybe they should restrict it to the top four ranked nations.
