The first coaching changes of the season have been made with Boudreu out at Washington and Maurice fired at Carolina.Both have been replaced with big name players from the past in the NHL with Dale Hunter in at the Caps and Kirk Muller in at the Canes.

Hmmm Deadly Dale Hunter interesting choice for the Head Coach, maybe the organisation feel the players have been taking the urine a little and want someone who will not take any messing or players players dare not mess with. Wonder if he'll hire Al Iafrate as his No.2

Still think he's most famous for the late hit on Turgeon after he'd scored in the divisional semi's getting the longest ban in NHL history at the time.

Still he's a 'Capital' through and through so what he lacks in coaching experience he will make up for in desire which seems to be what the likes of Ovi and Co are missing.

Not the greatest start for Hunter with the Caps going down 2-1 to the Blues and only managing to get 19 shots on goal through the game!

Grim start to Hunters Capitals coaching career. The game against Pittsburgh is massive to see how we respond from this.

Didn't take long for Boudreu to get another job,3 days after getting fired he's back as Anaheim coach.
