Yeah but the game will eventually guide you to the Premiership, even if you are a complete imbecile. I don't see the challenge anymore. Like andym said, everyone has a tale of guiding a Blue Square North team into the Champions League.

The problem is, the free transfers you can make are pretty unrealistic......You can pick up players who in the real world wouldn't dream of joining a lower grade side on a free.

A lot of present day promising youngsters are soon available on frees and you can build an impressive looking squad, even if you are just a League 1 side.

Started playing the demo as Everton. Pretty realistic. No money, no one will loan me a player.

Any recommendations for cheap signings?

And tactics? Do normal tactics work on this or do I have to go into loads of depth moving sliders and the like?

Samuel Armenteros. Bargain. Bought him for B'Pool in the championship for about £2.2mil, play him as an attacking target man and he scores a ton, got him developed to a 4* in about a year.

Banghura from Celtic as well, although you might have to wait a year, scores bagful for about £4mil.

Loving FM12 so far. Most of the way through the first season and third with Everton.

I'm unashamedly playing total anti-football. Defensive or counter, deep defensive line, narrow, lots of closing down, hard tackling, ultra direct. I beat Arsenal 2-0 away last game and they had 81% possession.

GK - Howard
DR - Vrsaljko
DC - Jagielka
DC - Distin
DL - Baines
ML - Zenden
MC - Rodwell
MC - Fellaini
MR - Osman
AMC - Bilyetdinov
ST - Wilfried

Top scorers are Jagielka (8), Baines (7) and Zenden (7).

I signed Dos Santos from Spurs but he doesn't fit in with the negative tactics I'm playing. So he's had a paddy and is refusing to train and has gone AWOL. I've told him it's a matter of principle now so he won't play for the club again or be sold, but rot in the reserves instead.

A few of my players have handed in transfer requests because I failed to offload any of the crap I have in my team.

Go on the Sigames.com forums and see if they can help. Sounds like your data is corrupt however.

Got sacked at Wigan after a shocking run. Prior to Christmas I had 31 points. After Christmas I picked up 1 point (a draw at Arsenal) and won 1 game in the FA Cup. I was sacked with 8 games to go but they still went down on the final day after losing 14 games in 15.

Taken over at relegated Swansea and after losing my opening game 2-1 at Derby, i'm unbeaten in 9 and sat 3rd. Got to the third round of the Carling Cup where I lost 1-0 to Liverpool AET with Dirk Kuyt scoring a sreamer.

I really don't see how it's possible to get sacked on the current Football Manager. It's so easy. The most important things are the press conferences and team talks. Get those right and you've done half the job. Winning the league second season with Everton is easy, which is ridiculous.

They've also not taken out the paying in installments thing, which for me completely ruins the game. It means you can spend £50-60m even as teams like Everton. It eventually catches up with you and sends your bank balance into freefall. But that just means either the board will turn it into loans or sell the club, when really it should send the club bankrupt and ruin your reputation.
