As i said, it's interesting to see how a fellow sporting body is doing financially and how RL compares.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

While the figures alone paint a good picture the devil is in the detail, much of the increase in turnover and funding is through the sport England links, I am not criticising this, it is good that the RFL can obtain this money, however as a commercial enterprise their performance hasnt been as successful, it is there that improvement is needed, a much more difficult prospect

Many of us can remember the days when union trolls came on here and hijacked the board day after day with a pointless debate.

It's not about how a fellow sporting body is doing. It's about getting at the old enemy and we can't stand against them.

A 6.3 million loss to the RFU is not the impact it would have on us.

Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.

We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.

But you’ve got to keep believing.

The largest increase in RFL turnover in recent times has been the increase in broadcast revenue (which excludes Super League) which has gone from just under ÂŁ3m in 2006/07/08 to in excess of ÂŁ7m recently. The increase in total turnover specifically between 2010 and 2011 was ÂŁ4.2m of which only ÂŁ670k related to increased governmental funding.

So you are suggesting that the RFL are recieving an extra 4million in broadcasting revenue per year but outside SL SKY money, so who is that from ? , and what part of the game is ' earning ' that revenue?

I'm not "suggesting" anything - I'm going from the audited figures included in the RFL's annual reports. Sorry if the facts don't suit.

Yes you are, you have just posted that non SL broadcast income has increased by 4 million, I'm just wondering who has paid that 4 million, and what have they had in return?

As the annual reports note, these reflect significantly improved deals with Sky and the BBC for internationals and Challenge Cup. Stupid, incompetent RFL.

You wouldnt have a link to these annual reports, would you? , I could swear the last ones I saw showed the main increases being the SE money
