Hardly. It points out the fundamental problem rugby union has.

They are stuck in our timeline circa 1910 in terms of game development. It is very funny to watch them flopping around being so amateurish while we have done all these things they need to do aeons ago. Serious rugby union people understand this.

The froth and bubble of the union WC is nothing more than a demonstration of what money and hype does. Pure and simple.

I think you are missing the fundamental existence that Union is a completely different game to League, far more technical and advantage based its not a running game compared to League. Union doesn't have a fundamental problem it doesn,t need to "re-badge" like we do in League we are so far back in marketing the game we are of little significance as a global sport.

Can,t see any problem with there scoring system, there is encouragement to play wider (Oz, NZ, Wales) away from technical set positions hence more tries. Winning the advantage (penalties) from set plays is still the very basic of the Union Laws so I don't know why League Fans tries to devalue it to League Laws and Rulings of our game.

Wales v England. A highlight.

12 penalty goals, 2 tries. Nothing to see here.

Yes union is full of rubbish we weeded out long ago. So?

You might also notice the countries you mentioned are in the southern hemisphere in union, leaving aside Wales (who are notoriously up and down and have beaten the All Blacks last in the 1950s from memory).

Why do you think that is? Because they are hugely affected by rugby league in Australia. NZ 4 million pop. SA white population 10%. Australia 23 million. All directly affected. Union is dying in Australia as well. The AFL/NRL deals have squeezed it back into its little private school box.

It will also be a short chat as one (galliant) is on ignore. I will keep an eye out for the other one and do the same when it arrives. Appreciate the heads up.

I think there is a England Rugby Union forum Poppa.
You can advise them on the error of their ways on there.

Their scoring system has no effect on us, and even less on you as you don't watch it and don't like it.
