Interesting that Stanley Gene was found guilty of what amounted to eye gouging but only got a fine. I know they are different offences but the potential for serious damage is there.
Its a good job Stanley does not play for Keighley or the York fans would be erecting the scaffold now
When I initially saw the incident I was pretty sure he'd get a ban. It's as well that the RFL did't listen to the York hysteria of "cowardly attack from behind that broke his jaw and nose. Interestingly, the player himself has said he may be fit to play this week (and the broken jaw has mysteriously healed!
Daley was just finding his best form and it will be a very big loss to us.

regards Gene's offence its described as behavour contrary to the spirit of the game after making unnecessary contact with the face! Isnt that what Daley did?.
Also Ryan McGoldrick has been given a 1 match ban, but as Castlefords season is over he can use 1 of Castlefords pre-season friendlies to serve the ban. Does this mean Daley can do the same for his 2nd game.?
