Current/Former Keighley Players : Wed Feb 02, 2011 10:13 pm
Just visited the 'Trinity' forum and clicked on a link that led me to the 'Wikipedia' page for Davide Longo (who also played better against us than for us - but that's history).
Anyway, if you follow the following link, I hope that you will be able to populate far more names and the true facts about 'Keighley's Best'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Keighley_Cougars_players I'll have to dig-out some of my old programmes to jog my memory and will add their names to the 'W' page over the next few days/weeks. When Bill Aspinall's name appeared my thoughts went back to the late 60's/early 70's when an 'Aspinall Special' with Colin Evans regularly resulted in a try for Keighley. After Bill had emigrated to New Zealand, Sam Illingworth took-over the 'play'. It's a pity that it's not used today as it would result in 6 points on virtually every occasion when we're attacking the opponent's line from 10 metres out. |
