Anyone who does a lot of walking/hiking etc know how nice it is to get away from the humdrum of daily life, apart from the exercise we have some outstanding places of beauty, if as planned there is a change in planning laws which I agree need to be reformed. This potentially leaves at risk places and walks we take for granted no longer being there. This is something we as a country are sleepwalking into and this can give the big companies freedom to gobble up areas for development which as we all know will be out of town supermarkets etc of which we have far too many, a look on any high street in any part of the country will show the effect it has had on the local shopkeepers etc. Already despite the bleating of Tescos etc there are millions of acres of land that have already been passed for development have not yet been built on. We are very short of affordable housing so instead of building another arcade build houses using land that already has planning permission. Some things need to be left alone and not abused just for profit of shareholders. Once its gobe its gone simple as that. |
