In todays league weekly the rfl confirm that Barrow are under investigation again for alleged breach of the salary cap rules, bear in mind in July they were deducted 6 points with another 6 points suspended for 12 months.

A decision is expected by end of September.

Surely if found guilty again as well as a points deduction they should this time be relegated and a team already relegated to keep their place, that has played by the rules.

By giving a points deduction next season alone they in theory they may have gained advantage in over other clubs this season.

Relegation either by default to me would be the best way to punish the club. I say this not because its Barrow with whom I have no gripe as my view wouls be same no matter which club was involved.

Surely any penalty should be dependent on how bad the breach of the salary cap is?

In the event that they're found guilty then...

If it's not by a huge amount then I'd take it off of their cap for next season and activate the 6 point suspended penalty.

If it's a massive one like the Melbourne Storm's a few years back, then throw the book at them.

Assuming they are found guilty it would seem unfair to the other clubs that play by the rules and they as a minimum should be relegated, if I were a york fan or official there would be one hell of a fuss raised.

To be honest its no suprise this happened at Barrow.
