I actually think we won the game in the 1st half, although you did well and were in front your players looked out on there feet at HT, and that ment Rovers just had to up our game for 15 mins in the 2nd half and it was ours, which was how it turned out. Keighley were up for it and played well the trick is getting up for the lesser teams

I'm sorry but I disagree. Whilst watching the game I was talking to a Keighley legend and towards the end of the first half we both commented that Featherstone looked the more tired of the two teams. Credit to Feav though, you got the win and look forward our next battle in front of the cameras. Maybe we can even it up!?

Few of things from yesterdays game.

There defence was very, very good.
There two props played very well.
All of there players really ran the ball in hard.
There warm up was very intense. The only other time i have seen one as hard as that was when Cas came over.

They had a few of there front line players not playing. Wonder what the score would have been in they had played.

I came away disappointed to be honest. Disappointed that once again our silly mistakes costs us.
One of these days its all going to click.

Not that it's a major topic of argument like but...
I was saying to anyone who'd listen to my drivel at half time that in my opinion, Keighley had not made effective use of the slope and didn't put enough distance between the two teams at the half. Moreover, when Fev were attacking at the end of the half, some of the Keighley forrads were indeed blowing a bit.
The decision to take 2 points from the penalty instead of putting some pressure on the Fev line also surprised me. A try then to put 6 points between the sides with the ball back.......???????
The first half was essentially where the game was won and lost for me.
The 2nd half transpired as I believed it would. Our forrads enjoyed the slope and starved Keighley of the ball long enough to make running up that hill increasingly difficult.
Despite us not being at full tilt yet, (that will come), it was an absorbing game. Keighley have a decent squad but still surprised me how committed they were before our forrads eventually won the arm wrestle. You could well make the play offs!

Putting in the huge effort of the first half had to take it's toll, and I expected fev to turn up the wick in the second.

We must remember that a good portion of our squad are still getting to grips with the intensity of this division and those ex superleague players are having to get used to the restrictions of part time training.

The key to this season is playing with that intensity against everyone - we have been guilty in the past of dropping off against lesser opposition.
