The Community Foundation's Summer Camp for School kids finally came to a rather damp end last Friday afternoon as a mass water fight provided the climax of two full weeks of sports ,games and fun activities for over 30 kids aged between 5 and 14 .Community Officer Sam Obst and Head Coach Jason Demetriou planned and lead the Camp, assisted by fellow Cougar Players JyMel Coleman and Ben Stead , with Korki and Brendon Rawlins also lending a hand alongside their normal Your Sporting Chance Roles .
Alongside the usual rugby coaching and games , there was a chance to join in a Mini Olympics ,speed and agility courses , a street dance session and a morning of inflatables plus some very messy art and craft sessions during the 10 days of activities that took place on the field and in the Hall of Fame .
Sam said ' We think everyone has really enjoyed themselves and we've received some excellent feedback not just from the Kids but from Parents as well that has made all the hard work worthwhile .
I think all the boys that have worked are now ready for a rest ,but the atmosphere with the kids has been amazing .'
All the youngsters attending received Camp t-shirts and tickets to the Dewsbury and Leigh Games , with several of them also having the opportunity of leading out the team in front of the TV Cameras for the Leigh Match.
