It started like a repeat of the Doncaster game; too many mistakes, too many penalties, surrendering field position without making them earn it, lack of drive and direction.
It must have been a good team talk because we were like a different side in the second half, Paul March came on and was at the heart of everything. It just shows what increasing the tempo and putting the pressure on a side can do because the penalty count started to even itself out which gave us more field position. To be fair though, we seemed to be more than capable of making our own field position, repeatedly busting them across the whole line. It appears that they had put everything into the first half and had nothing left to give. But for bad decision making on our part we could have scored at least three more tries.
Conclusion:-
"first half Cougars" are hair pullingly, maddeningly, head in your hands, dire.
"Second half Cougars" are a joy to watch, more of the same please.
Paul March is an enigma.
If we give Leigh that sort of start they will take us to the cleaners.
